Album of the year - 10th place

Boss Keloid - "Herb Your Enthusiasm"

Being from the North West of England Boss Keloid is a band who I've been familiar with for quite some time, however the music on Herb Your Enthusiasm isn't something many people will be familiar with because the music here is quite different from anything in metal at the moment.

On the tin, it says Sludge. The fact that they are named after an Iron Monkey song just hammers that point home. But Ronseal this is not, and it does far more than what it says on the tin.

Sludge is the starting point, but this Wigan bunch have thrown in a bit of everything in metal as long as it's slow, and have more groove than Clutch could shake a stick at. This is music which doesn't move mountains, it makes them from being so heavy the world around them collapses. It sounds so much like tar filling your ear that you could discover new species of dinosaurs inside. A very special sophomore effort from the pie-barm bunch.
