Album of the Year - 6th place

Ihsahn - Arktis

Vegard Sverre Tveitan, the artist commonly known as Ihsahn has ascended into such legendary status that practically anything he does would receive positive attention. The fact that everything he does turns to gold is also helpful of course.

The regularity with what Ihsahn puts out albums is comforting as we know we are never too far from hearing his experimental edge yet again.

Arktis is yet another step in the evolution of this captivating solo career, and its astounding how far the music had come since the impressive debut "The Adversary". Experimental, Progressive, what ever you want to call it, Arktis is a rewarding journey though a myriad of ideas and an abundance of talent. A magnificent production job putting the final garnish on to the album, it's another outstanding achievement from the most mesmerising of artist.
